It is that special modified linseed oil that allows these oils to be water soluble! The DANIEL SMITH Water Soluble Oils are Oil Paints, they have the same brush feel , they mix the same as regular oils and they have the same lovely linseed oil scent. Because they are oil paints, the DANIEL SMITH Water Soluble Oils can be mixed with regular oil paints, though they will lose their water solubility. This ability to mix with regular oils makes transitioning to Water Soluble Oils easy.
