From Berkeley Chess, a wonderful Medieval themed ornamental Chess set made from ground stone resin. The chessmen are in cream and red and all feature excellent detail and decoration. To celebrate this rich historical period, Berkeley Chess have crafted these stunning Medieval chess pieces based on a 14th Century German set. The pieces all feature excellent detail, such as on the reverse side of the King?s throne, where small depictions of warriors can be seen. Likewize, the Queen?s throne shows ladies in waiting and the Bishop?s throne, holy men and musicians. In the Rook can be seen the beginning of the introduction of the Castle into early European Chess. All the Chess pieces have a good weight and feel to them and feature felted bottoms. The king in this set is 3 and a half inches tall. Please note that a Chess board is not included unless specified. We would recommend a board with 50mm squares for this set.Contains small parts.
